Another day in paradise...

Well, since everyone else in the family started a blog, I got pressured into it and started one too! Now, you guys can all get a better idea of what I am doing while I'm so far away and in school!

I am back in Hawaii for my second semester. I got back on the 7th of January. School started on the 9th and I have been busy with getting my schedule figured out, homework, celebrating my birthday, and job hunting. The weather right now is pretty nice, in the 70's. It's been a little windy the last few days. For those that don't know, I live on campus and walk pretty much everywhere. I am on the island Oahu, in the town Laie. It's a really small town that is 99% Mormon. I've been able to experience alot on the island, but I still have much much more to do! This last month I have spent my Saturdays at the beach soaking up the sun. Surf competitions are over, but it's still fun to see all the surfers out there! There are alot of hikes to go on here and a few weekends ago I went on a hike called Stairway to Heaven. It's a set of metal stairs that go straight up a mountain. It took us 3 hours to get to the top and 2 to get down. At the top of the mountain, I couldnt' see much, there were too many clouds in the way! It was really awesome though. I would be okay if I never did that hike again though. It was INTENSE! There are always tons of opportunities to do a lot of fun things here, which makes it hard to prioritize homework. There are always celebrities around and different events happening. Last weekend the premiere of Lost was shown in Waikiki with the cast attending. A huge golf tournament was held 15 minutes away the other day. And before Christmas there were tons of surf competitions going on. I love it here, it's awesome! I wish everyone could have the opportunity to see what it is like for themselves! I am constantly taking pictures, so I will try to post tons!

This week I am busy with schoolwork though. English, Spanish, Religion, etc-things that have to be done. Tonight I was able to go to a well-known restaurant called Haleiwa Eats, it's Thai Food, with some friends. It is in North Shore where there are tons of little surf shops that are fun to look at. Last time I ate there I met Kelly Slater who is a 8 time world champion surfer. It was awesome! There is always something exciting happening!

Well, I don't need to tell everything all in one post, so I will try to keep everyone updated on the things I am doing. I hope everyone is doing well, I'm missing everyone tons! And yes, I do miss the cold and the snow-as shocking as that may sound.
